Shoshone, Idaho is a town located in Lincoln County with a population of 1,511. Pronounced "show-shown," the town got its name from the Shoshone Native American tribe.
Shoshone is home to the Shoshone Ice Caves, Black Magic Canyon and Idaho's Mammoth Cave, the largest volcanic cave in the world open to the public. Shoshone is located 40 miles northeast of Twin Falls and an hour from the world-class ski and resort area Sun Valley.

In 2020, the City of Shoshone won the gold award in the Small Business category of Operation Facelift for the facade upgrades to local businesses along main street.
