Glenns Ferry

"A Community of Opportunity"
Glenns Ferry, Idaho was one of the most famous river crossings on the Oregon Trail. Pioneers forded the Snake River at the Three Island Crossing until 1869, when Gustavus "Gus" Glenn constructed a ferry about two miles upstream to expedite freight and transport emigrants. His boat cut nearly 20 miles from the former route! Glenns Ferry is centered between the Treasure Valley of Boise and the Magic Valley of Twin Falls with a population of 1,229 in 2015.
Glenns Ferry's economic base remains largely dependent upon agriculture. Housing is both available and affordable while utility rates are among the lowest in the nation. The result is a cost of living that is very comfortable.
