A Sustainable Future

Make business a sustainable choice.

Southern Idaho is one of the unique areas in the U.S. currently producing commercial power in all five renewable energy sectors: hydro, wind, solar, biomass, and geothermal.
  • In 2024, renewable energy sources generated 65% of the electricity in Idaho, the fifth-highest share of renewable electricity generation for any state after Vermont, South Dakota, and Washington.
  • Idaho Power, a leader in providing reliable and affordable energy in our region, has pledged to produce 100% clean energy by 2045.
  • Idaho has the third lowest Annual Average Price/kWh in the U.S. (just 10.82 cents).
  • Idaho Power's sustainability initiatives have resulted in a 35% drop in CO2 emissions since 2005.
  • In 2023, Duke Energy and Idaho Power placed into commercial operation the 120 MW Jackpot Solar Project in Twin Falls County. A second 80 MW project is currently under construction at the same locale with 60 MW of battery energy storage.
  • Clif Bar in Twin Falls recently unveiled the largest private solar farm in Idaho (which powers a third of the factory's annual power needs).
  • Solar projects throughout Southern Idaho are generating enough power to fuel more than 400,000 homes.
