Dairy ProcessingNowhere else in Idaho are there more dairy farms than in Southern Idaho, accounting for 80% of the state's dairy processing. Our excellent cow feed availability and generally cool year-round climate has helped us become #3 for milk production and #3 for cheese production in the United States.
ManufacturingChemical, Plastics & PackagingA mini-cluster of chemical, plastic and packaging manufacturers are located in Southern Idaho, including several major extruders, injection mold manufacturers, cardboard box, styrofoam, and other manufacturers. Many have chosen the region for their expansion because of the area's strong, qualified workforce, favorable power rates, good location and transportation for a west coast presence.
