Agricultural communities on the edge of the magnificent Snake River Canyon.
On the north side of the magnificent Snake River Canyon, you'll find Jerome Country: home to the small farming communities of Jerome, Hazelton, and Eden. Once a flat plain of wild sagebrush and lava rock, an innovative irrigation system developed in the early 1900's transformed this county into an agricultural haven. Today, these communities produce alfalfa, corn, soybeans, sugar beets, and other major commodities as well as specialize in dairy and other food processing.
As the county seat, the city of Jerome has a lively downtown corridor and is located just off interstate 84. The two quaint, smaller communities are located in the south east portion of the county. |
