Agri Beef announced it plans to open a new plant in Jerome that will employee 400 workers when it opens.
The Jerome plant, which will operate as True West Beef, will process 500 head of cattle a day, it said at a ceremony at the Jerome airport.

McCain Foods in Burley, Idaho was awarded $1.6 million by Idaho Power for energy efficiency projects at the plant in March. The projects completed at the plant will save 8,856,181 kWh of energy per year, powering about 777 average-sized houses annually.
